THE WARDENS
McIntosh Hall has a team of wardens who live in-hall as part of Student Services. The Wardennial Team are responsible for discipline, keeping good order, student welfare, and promoting community spirit. They work closely with the Residence Managers and put on events during the year, including Wine and Cheese evenings.

Comprising of University staff and post-graduate students, wardens are available for pastoral care or giving advice or support for issues such as homesickness, feeling low or stressed, and coursework or roommate issues.
Wardens serve as an out-of-hours emergency contact and are available if you need first aid or an ambulance, you’re locked out, or you’ve been drinking and are mysteriously unable to stand up or not vomit. Wardens rotate nights on duty and share a flat at the end of B floor.

The wardens host a daily drop-in session from 7:30-7:45pm in the wardens' office, located between the RSMs' office and the small TV room in the main entrance.

SARAH WHITTLE
Head Warden
Sarah works for the University as support adviser in Student Services and as head warden in McIntosh. In her spare time, she enjoys academic biblical studies, watching Manchester United, or enjoying the amazing seaside.
JOE SLATER
Assistant Warden
Joe is a sarcastic philosophy PhD student, and a vegetarian. He like left-wing politics, dinosaurs and witty people.
COURTNEY STAFFORD-WALTER
Assistant Warden
Courtney is working on her PhD in Social Anthropology. Her fieldwork was conducted in the Amazon rainforest and her current project is about indigenous education and Amerindian communities.
FIONA MCKISSOCK
Assistant Warden
Fiona is working on her PhD in medicine. Her favourite things are cake, dogs, and science. When not in McIntosh, you'll either find her in the sports centre being a ninja (I'm a member of the Taekwon-Do club) or playing in the lab.
THE RESIDENCE SERVICE MANAGERS AND CATERING STAFF
The RSMs ensure the smooth running of all facilities and are the first point of contact for any matter of house services or maintenance within the residence. The RSMs’ office is also where you may pick up parcels that must be signed for.
The RSMs’ office is located in the front entrance, opposite the lift. The office is open from Monday-Friday, 8am – 3pm. The office is not open on weekends. The catering team consists of a dedicated team of chefs, cooks, and servers who bring 19 meals a week. The catering team aims to provide a healthy, balanced diet by keeping fat, salt, and sugar to a minimum and ensuring that options such as low fat dairy products, fruits, and vegetables are always available. Vegetarian meals are provided at every meal. If you have a specific food allergy or dietary requirement, you can contact the head chef at mchcatering@st-andrews.ac.uk.

THE PORTER AND HOUSEKEEPING STAFF
McIntosh is staffed by our Hall Porter (Charlie) and housekeeping staff, headed by our Housekeeping Supervisor (Sam).
The housekeeping staff keeps the hall clean and tidy, cleaning the common areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms. In bedrooms, rooms are vacuumed, bins are emptied, and sinks cleaned. The housekeeping staff are a happy bunch who love a bit of banter.
Our hall porter is responsible for maintenance issues, luggage storage, mail, and anything else the hall needs. Charlie is your number 1 call for absolutely anything in hall - Is you window painted shut? Talk to Charlie. Is your heater not working? Talk to Charlie. Is your door not locking? Talk to Charlie. Do you not have enough space in your room for your suitcase? Talk to Charlie. Fancy a chat? Talk to Charlie. Charlie’s office can be found next to the main entrance of hall.
