FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Unfortunately no. McIntosh is an old building and such devices would probably fry the entire building. However, each floor has a kitchen equipped with electric kettles, microwaves, stoves, fridges, and ovens.

CAN I BRING MY BIKE?

Absolutely! McIntosh has a bike shed in the back of hall; simply talk to the Residence Service Managers about registering your bike and they'll take care of the rest.

WHERE CAN I STORE MY SPORTS EQUIPMENT/EXTRA BELONGINGS?

All personal items must be stored in your room; there is no additional storage in hall. However, some sports teams have storage options for their kit; you can contact sports teams here. 

The only exception is luggage storage - once you've unpacked, you can contact the Porter to store your empty cases. 

CAN I BRING MY CAR?

While you can bring your car, there is no car park available for students. However, in such a small town, a car is hardly necessary.

CAN I HAVE A PET IN HALLS?

St Andrews University has a strict no pet’s policy.   The only exception to this rule is if the animal is an Assistance Dog and meets the criteria as mentioned here.
